To use two way radios in hazardous environments such as chemical plants, power stations and refineries, you'll need to use an Ex ATEX radio.

Motorola are the biggest radio brand known to many and their range of ATEX radios as used around the globe where a risk of ignition from spark or heat, could be a problem.

The DP4401 Ex ATEX Certfied handheld radio is a digital DMR radio without an LCD display but still features all the technology that the lcd version offers.

This particular DP4401 is a UHF model but VHF is also available. The DP4401 EX is easy to use and features 32 channels, three programmable buttons, an emergency button, man down and lone worker functions plus is IP67 Rated.

This radio is also suitable for SOLAS with use amongst firefighters and firefighting teams onboard maritime vessels.

The DP4401ex comes with a 2075mAh Li-Ion battery, this will let the radio operate for up to 19 hours whilst in digital mode and 16 hours whilst operating in analogue. If you would like to upgrade the battery, let us know. All accessories must be ATEX certified to ensure safe use of the radio when operating in potentially explosive environments.
